William Morris’s fabrics were produced at Merton Abbey Mills, a stone’s throw from our Wimbledon space where we handcraft all our hats. Many of us will be familiar with the William Morris Strawberry Thief design, which was first printed in Merton in May 1883.
The Golden Lily design with its intricate, swirling tendrils adorned with delicate golden lilies firmly roots Morris as one of the leading exponents of the Arts & Crafts movement of the late 19th Century.
